I finally got to buy this and I already finished it...fantastic. Please release the update asap, I can't wait. In the current version there is one (only one, unfortunately) scene with Jill and Jada in the bathroom, you know what I mean...any chance to have more (and more detailled) in future?
Thank goodness! I was worried this had become a dropped VN. The renders and animations are AMAZING and the story is good. I don't know how you do the graphics but DAMN.

It has a price tag because it is also on Steam, and Steam has issues with content on their platform being hosted elsewhere at a different price. The game is only a 1 time purchase, and all updates will be free. If you were worried about having to pay for each update, don't be, as that won't happen. I really like Katherine's design she's my favorite even though she has small breasts I think she the most beautifull of the characters and I would like to see her as Jill's girlfriend even if it meant that I would be exclusive to her(even thought the clear point of the game is to harem katherine would be worth it)

Anyway I really loved the 0.7 update Rachel is really cool and all but Katherine asking for help sure was the highlight for me.

If at any point you either purchased the game or donated at least $1 USD before the price was raised to $8.99, then updates are free (check your collections tab).
If you did neither of those things, then you will have to pay the $8.99 to buy the game (or wait until it goes on sale again and get it cheaper), and all future updates will be free after that.

hmm, this is quitting as soon as it opens on my Mac. It is not because the author is unknown; i progressed past that. Other renpy games seem to be fine.

It took it off my card and I never received the access link. Wondering what I should do. I have contacted the support but I've not gotten much help.
Hmm... sounds weird, are you sure it didn't say "access to the link"? like access to the downloads. Did you try downloading it from here after making the purchase? If nothing works, I can't check which user made a purchase, so this is something the itch support has to take care of, but they can take a while to answer (up to two weeks, yikes).

Have you checked in your collections page? The link to download might be there under the purchased games at the top of the page. Sorry if this sounds rude or anything, I'm just trying to help figure out a way for you to enjoy the game you paid for.
So, they actually did end up getting back with me and told me that The purchase actually didn't go through which is confusing to me. When I tried the purchase again it doesn't decline it or anything it just doesn't go through Due to the fact I have already made the purchase.
Originally downloaded and played it for free, but unfortunately even with it already downloaded and in my library here I was unable to download the update or even just redownload the game. Was a bit sad at first but then I just went to steam and bought it flat out. Its an amazing game and the dev is doing a great job, so I decided to help support the Dev in whatever little way I can. Keep up the great work. :)
I read somewhere a while back that this was changing from free to be a payed game, and that if you already owned and played it when it was free that you can get the updates for free once it goes payed, is this correct or do you have to pay even if you played it before when it was free ?

I wasn't sure how this works on itch at the time, so my recommendation was to buy it for the lowest amount possible, which was $1 iirc, turns out that that was what was necessary for itch to recognize that you "own" the game.
The next update is probably either still in the planning stages, or has just begun being worked on. As far as I can tell, BM_Rec is working on this game solo, which is a tremendous task. Give it some time, Rome wasn't built in a day after all.
I cannot get this to run on Mac.. an older version worked but that was several months ago. I usually have to right click > open twice but this time nothing happens. Usually I also have to run the .rpy file but there isn't one in the folder.

Open terminal. Paste (with a space at the end): xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine Drag the app onto the terminal, so you get something like xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Users/<username>/Games/BadMemories/Bad-Memories.app
Run that command. The app should now open properly every time without needing to locate and run the internal executable.
Please note that I don't have a mac myself, all of the above is gathered from comments of other people who played the game on mac.

Just finished the newest update! Yeah, I can safely say I still love this game! I was very happy to see things move along with Rachel, Ellie is still a pure cutie and Jada is as naughty as ever! some odd turns but every story needs them.
love the special renders as well, so well thought out and in my opinion very detailed. shows alot of passion! I was sifting through the renders and just realized who Em and Jess were haha. and I think I know who "Precious" is wink wink. confident in my guess but still 50/50 between if Im right or wrong lol.

Is there any voice acting in Bad Memories?? I watched a couple of videos of people playing the first few minutes and I didn't hear any, but thought maybe they were playing an older version? I assume its either that or simply the Steam store page is incorrect? No, there is no voice acting, but steam recommended to add it if in any case there will be VA in the future, and since I'm thinking about it for a while, I added it to the steam page.
Right on, the character design looks pretty well done, so definitely looking forward to giving it a shot, and would love to see VA in a future update.. Not trying to name drop another title, but I plaid Lust Theory when it was released which has it (I actually think they just hired two women to do all of it but it actually works seeing as you're never hearing them talk at the same time) but it really added to the story immersion.
I think if you add VA, it's vital that it be high quality. I'm sure we're all familiar with, for example, anime dubs where the voice acting just doesn't fit and spoils the show.
I hopped here to check for an update and was not disappointed. I will say with the change to paid, a demo version would do well for promotion. This game is fantastic and if I had anything to spare right now would definitely buy it in a heartbeat.

downloading the game via the "free download" option doesn't mean you own the game, it means that you have downloaded it as "freeware". downloading the game after donating the minimum amount set for the "purchase" of the game means that you now own a copy, as you technically paid for it.
sadly this was not made very clear in the update titled "Update News and Future Pricing" due to the fact that the creator was not entirely sure how itch.io handled things when it came to price changes. BM_Rec was not entirely sure about the effects of the price change, as evidenced by one of his replies to a previous comment. this is a direct quote from BM_Rec that you can find below if you feel like looking for it.
The updates will still be free, but what I said was that I'm not sure how this works on itch and if you wanted to make sure that you keep getting the updates for free it's best to buy the game as long as you can choose the price yourself.

Like in I mentioned in my previous post, it's best to start a new game. You can activate "skip seen" in preferences if you don't want to read all again.

Just out of curiosity though, how many updates do you think you'll be able to fit into the game, with your current thoughts on the work? Also, personally i have taken quiet the liking to catherine and i was really wondering if you intend to build much more on her as a person in the story.
Doesn't matter how long it takes for the updates to me since i fill my time as needed, but i am looking forward to your work! High quality isn't always good work, but yours is 5/5 :)
I'd say the story is about 2/3 done by now, so two more updates is the absolute minimum + Rachels story, but it's more likely that the next updates are a bit smaller since the work on the last one was hell and I don't want to go through that again, so it'll probably be about 3 - 5 smaller updates.
Glad to say i purchased it and have enjoyed the new scenes very much. The scenes with Rachel are excellent, hanna is wonderfully done and i enjoy seeing more of kat in both meaning of it.
I shall await patiently for any further updates, ill also go ahead and give Weird a shot too!

you need to start from day 9 when the "Day 9" text pops up on screen (when waking up early in the morning), or simply start a new game. That's because I've changed some variables to get the new map working properly.
ah okay cool ty ty I'll try that. I made a save during the section that said "hey you finished what's here" for .6 version. Can I roll back from there to the start of day 9 or does the games ability to go back not go far enough to reach the start of day 9? Just want to know if I need to start a new playthrough or not at this point lol.
yep it did a weird, it created a autosave right there at the start of chapter 10 and when I used it for some reason it didn't error. really liked the 3way great animation. Glad I got to know more about Katie too.

The Steam store page is incorrect. I have played through all available content so far and there is no voice acting at all.

looks like you used an incompatible save-file. I'd start a new game if it keeps happening with other saves as well.

It should be a one time purchase unless the dev decides to hike up the price for whatever reason. Once you own it, it'll be linked to your account.

Glad to say i purchased it and have enjoyed the new scenes very much. The scenes with Rachel are excellent, hanna is wonderfully done and i enjoy seeing more of kat in both meaning of it.
I shall await patiently for any further updates, ill also go ahead and give Weird a shot too!
I just downloaded the update to play the new stuff in the main story (I've never touched Rachel's Story part so idk if there's any issue with that) but very soon after the start of the new content the game errored for me, when Rachel was telling me the girls weren't up yet but she made breakfast for the two of us I got this:

you need to start from day 9 when the "Day 9" text pops up on screen (when waking up early in the morning), or simply start a new game. That's because I've changed some variables to get the new map working properly.
ah okay cool ty ty I'll try that. I made a save during the section that said "hey you finished what's here" for .6 version. Can I roll back from there to the start of day 9 or does the games ability to go back not go far enough to reach the start of day 9? Just want to know if I need to start a new playthrough or not at this point lol.
I haven't tested it, but the game makes several autosaves, so there should be at least one that you can use.
yep it did a weird, it created a autosave right there at the start of chapter 10 and when I used it for some reason it didn't error. really liked the 3way great animation. Glad I got to know more about Katie too.
